Batrec Industrie AG, founded 1989 in Wimmis and part of Veolia group since acquisition, operates Switzerland primary battery recycling facility. Processes lithium-ion batteries from phones, e-bikes, and electric vehicles alongside alkaline, button cells, and other chemistries. Developed proprietary closed-loop system for isolating toxic materials and recycling metals. EMAS certified.
